Marshfield golfers fifth at Neillsville

NEILLSVILLE – Girls golfers from the Clover Valley Conference braved windy and rainy conditions Tuesday at the fifth leg of the conference round-robin at Neillsville Country Club.

Marshfield finished fifth with a score of 215, just eight shots back of third-place Stevens Point and six shots behind fourth-place Stanley-Boyd.

Maggie Field shot a 49 and Savannah Shortess had a 54 to lead the Tigers. Sara Sturomski shot a 55, Kallie Mayer had a 57 and Macy Fitzgerald had a 66 as well for Marshfield.

Eau Claire Regis won the meet, as it did in the past four Clover Valley tournaments, with an 187, just two shots in front of Osseo-Fairchild.

Lindsey Eisenhuth of Regis was the meet medalist with a 43.

Marshfield plays at Stevens Point Country Club on Sept. 14 and at Osseo-Fairchild on Sept. 16 in the final two Clover Valley meets of the season before the conference tournament at Pine Valley Golf Course in Marathon on Sept. 23.
