DeLany was also honored as the District 2 Athletic Director of the Year.

The A.D. of the Year award was chosen from the seven district winners by the WADA Board.

The district winners were chosen based on candidates who “shall be an athletic administrator who is recognized in the community as an educational leader and who administers athletics as an integral part of the total educational program. Additional considerations include contribution to social and cultural environment of school and community and involvement in state and national associations,” according to the WADA website.

DeLaney has helped oversee the Unified School District of Marshfield’s efforts to build a new all-purpose football stadium and baseball field at the high school, and a new softball facility at Madison Elementary School across from the high school.

DeLany has also been elected as the WADA Vice-President. This is the first of a four-year officer commitment to WADA that will transition to President-Elect (2019), President (2020), and Past-President (2021).
