MARSHFIELD – Colby held Marshfield Columbus Catholic to 14 points in the first half and cruised to a 54-34 victory in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Tuesday at Columbus Catholic High School.
Colby raced out to a 26-14 lead by halftime and maintained its lead from there.
Colby, the defending Cloverbelt East champion, is now 2-0 overall and in the Cloverbelt East. Columbus is 1-1 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Ashley Streveler had 19 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead the Hornets.
Addie Baierl and Dorci Walker each had eight points, and Maren Seefluth scored seven for Columbus.
The Dons will play Nekoosa at the Cranberry Classic at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Friday afternoon.
