WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic basketball teams both won first-round matches at the Cranberry Classic on Friday at Assumption High School.
The Columbus Catholic girls won 60-40 and the boys won 75-61, both against Nekoosa.
Hailey Roehl scored a career-high 29 points for the Dons’ girls, who improve to 2-1 this season.
Addie Baierl added 12 points in the victory for Columbus.
Statistics from the boys game were not provided. Columbus was playing its season opener.
Columbus Catholic will take on Wisconsin Rapids Assumption in the girls championship game at 1:15 p.m. Saturday. The Columbus boys will play University School of Milwaukee in the championship game at 8 p.m. Both games will be livestreamed at onfocus.news/sports.
