Stratford boys basketball blows out Assumption

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Stratford boys basketball team was sizzling on offense and stingy on defense as it rolled to a 81-40 win at Wisconsin Rapids Assumption on Tuesday.

The Tigers (2-0 overall and Marawood Conference South Division) shot 62 percent from the field, making 28 of 45 shots from the field, and made 16 of 20 free throws on the way to the huge win.

Ben Bargen had 18 points, and Vaughn Breit and Teddy Redman each added 13 points for Stratford, combing to make 16 of 23 shots from the fied.

Stratford held Assumption (1-3, 1-1 Marawood South) to just 14 points in the first half, building a 24-point lead by the break.

In all, 11 Tigers scored in the win.

Stratford plays at Edgar on Friday.
