MARSHFIELD – Columbus Cathoilc made four of seven free throws in overtime to slip past Gilman 38-34 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division girls basketball game Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.
Gilman stormed back after scoring just eight points in the first half to tie the game at 32-32 and force overtime.
In the extra period, Hailey Roehl scored all four of her points for the game as she made a basket and two free throws to lift the Dons to the win as Gilman scored just two points.
Addie Baierl made three 3-pointers and scored a game-high 18 points for Columbus Catholic, which is now 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Cloverbelt East.
Gilman, which upset Neillsville earlier this season, is now 5-3 and 3-3 in conference play.
Columbus Catholic will play Stevens Point Pacelli at Viterbo University in La Crosse on Saturday afternoon.
