AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team evened its season record with a narrow 36-33 win over Nekoosa in a nonconference game Tuesday night at Auburndale High School.
The Apaches (4-4) trailed 18-15 at halftime before pulling ahead in the second half and holding on for the victory.
Auburndale made just nine of 54 shots overall and were three of 22 from 3-point range, but did enough to pull out the win, making 15 of 28 free throws.
Natalie Aue was 11 of 14 at the line and finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Auburndale.
Auburndale returns to Marawood Conference South Division action Friday at Stratford.
