WAUNAKEE – Marshfield shot 50 percent from the field, made 15 of 20 free throws and rolled to a 63-42 win over Oconomowoc in a semifinal at the Waunakee Holiday Boys Basketball Tournament on Thursday night at Waunakee High School.
The Tigers (4-4) made 21 of 42 shots from the field, including six 3-pointers, as they cruised to the victory.
Marshfield built a double-digit lead early and led 31-17 at the half before finishing off the win.
Isaac Meverden made 8 of 10 shots from the field and scored a team-high 20 points for the Tigers. Anthony Posteluk added 12 points and five rebounds, and Brant Bohman had 11 points for Marshfield.
Marshfield will play Eau Claire Memorial (5-2) in the championship game on Friday night. Memorial edged host Waunakee 52-50 in the other semifinal Thursday. The game will begin at approximately 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on WDLB-AM 1450 and wdlbwosq.com.
