AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale wrestling team won its first Marawood Conference dual meet of the season as it defeated Marathon 36-24 on Thursday night at Auburndale High School.
Only five matches were actually wrestled as there were four double forfeits, Auburndale won three matches by forfeit, and Marathon had two forfeit wins.
Auburndale won four of the five contested matches, all by pin.
Noah Altmann (106 pounds), Hunter Godard 9126), Jared Sweno (132) and Dylan Baird (152) all won with first-period pins for the Apaches.
Marathon’s only win in the contested matches came from Addison Seding, who pinned Nicholas Engelbright in 1:22 at 182 pounds.
Auburndale will compete at the D.C. Everest Invitational on Saturday.
