MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won the first four matches to grab a quick lead and held on from there, taking down D.C. Everest 47-17 in a Wisconsin Valley Conference wrestling dual meet on Thursday night at Marshfield High School.
The Tigers won 10 of the 14 matches, including three by forfeit and two by pin.
Bentley Schwanebeck-Ostermann pinned Matt Stanley in 3:17 at 182 pounds, and Gabe Pugh finished off the victory with a pin of Caiden Hoepner at 2:57 at 126 pounds for the Tigers’ two pins.
Ryan Dolezal (132), Tanner Kanable (138), Caden Pearce (145), and Sam Haessly (285) earned victories, and Nolan Hertel won by technical fall at 152 pounds for Marshfield.
Marshfield is now 3-1 in WVC dual meets, while Everest falls to 1-1.
Marshfield will have a pair of road dual meets next week, going to Antigo for a nonconference match on Tuesday and traveling to Wausau West on Jan. 10.
