AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale boys basketball team kept pace with Stratford on top of the Marawood Conference South Division standings with a 73-46 blowout win over Phillips in a Marawood crossover game Friday night at Auburndale High School.
Auburndale (9-1 overall) and Stratford are now both 7-0 in the Marawood South and will match up next Friday, Jan. 11, at Auburndale in the first of two meetings this season.
The Apaches owned both halves, outscoring Phillips (6-3, 4-3 Marawood North) by 12 in the first half and 15 in the second.
Cooper Weinfurter had 18 points, seven rebounds, and six assists to lead the way for Auburndale. Colton Wright added 15 points and Hunter Wright chipped in 10 in the victory.
Noah Baratka had 10 points to lead the Loggers.
Before the big conference showdown next Friday, Auburndale will host Nekoosa in a nonconference game Tuesday.
