Three-point shooting pushes Marshfield boys basketball past Wausau East

WAUSAU – The Marshfield boys basketball team poured in 14 3-pointers and grabbed a big Wisconsin Valley Conference road win, beating Wausau East 65-59 on Friday night at East High School.

Tommy Olson was 6-for-10 on 3-pointers and scored a team-high 20 points, and Preston Wagner was 5-for-9 from long range and had 19 points for Marshfield, which is now 6-4 overall and 2-2 in the WVC after picking up its third-straight win overall.

Brant Bohman added 13 points and six rebounds for the Tigers.

Wausau East falls to 8-3 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Gabe Krueger poured in 33 points for the Lumberjacks.

Marshfield plays at Wausau West on Tuesday.
