Marshfield girls basketball cruises past Wausau East

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a solid 58-40 win over Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

The Tigers ran out to a 10-point lead by halftime and outscored East by eight in the second half to win going away.

Jenna Jakobi was 8-for-11 shooting and scored 19 points to lead the way for Marshfield (4-8, 2-3 Wisconsin Valley Conference). Kaydee Johnson added 13 points and eight rebounds in the victory.

Marshfield held Wausau East (1-12, 0-4 WVC) to just 34 percent shooting (15 of 43).

The Tigers host Wausau West on Tuesday.
