ASHLAND – The Marshfield boys hockey team made the long trip to Ashland worth it with a 5-4 overtime victory over the Oredockers on Saturday night.
Marshfield’s Nick Urban scored with 30 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and Max Heller tallied the game-winning goal 1:44 into overtime to push the Tigers to their 10th victory of the season.
Marshfield took the early lead on a goal by Justin Stanek, but trailed 4-1 before a mad comeback in the third period.
The Tigers scored three times in the final 2:37 over regulation to push the game into overtime. Sawyer Schindler, Evan Weister and Urban all scored in a span of 2:07 late in the third period to even the score.
A.J. Trierweiler had 19 saves in goal for Marshfield (10-4).
Marshfield hosts Black River Falls for a nonconference game Monday at the Marshfield Ice Arena. Game time is 7 p.m.
