Auburndale girls basketball stifles Greenwood in second half to pull out road win

GREENWOOD – The Auburndale girls basketball team clamped down defensively in the second half, holding Greenwood to just four points, and pulled away to a 48-33 victory in a nonconference game Monday at Greenwood High School.

The Apaches (6-9) led 30-29 at halftime before shutting down Greenwood (4-9) in the second half, holding the Indians to just one made field goal and two free throws.

Auburndale’s Mackenzie Raab was a perfect 11 of 11 at the free throw line and scored 13 points to lead the Apaches. Marissa Ponshock added 12 points, and Kaitlyn Kundinger pulled down 11 rebounds in the victory.

Auburndale plays a Marawood Conference crossover game at Chequamegon on Friday.
