STRATFORD – The Stratford boys basketball team was smoking hot from deep and made quick work of Owen-Withee, rolling to a 79-43 nonconference victory on Friday night at Stratford High School.
Stratford shot 57 percent overall (30 of 53) and were 13 of 24 from 3-point range in the victory.
Thirteen different Stratford players scored in the victory, four in double figures. Ben Barten was a perfect 7-for-7 from 3-point range and scored 16 points, Chandler Schmidt added 14 points, Branden Ackley chipped in 11, and Lance Heidmann had 10 for the Tigers, who are now 15-0 this season.
The Tigers raced out to a 44-16 lead by halftime.
Owen-Withee drops to 4-10.
Stratford plays at Wausau Newman Catholic in a Marawood Conference South Division game on Tuesday.
