Neillsville beats Spencer in Cloverbelt East girls basketball finale

SPENCER – Neillsville dominated Spencer, winning 46-11 as both teams wrapped up Cloverbelt Conference East Division play on Wednesday night at Spencer High School.

Neillsville finishes in second place in the conference at 13-3 and is now 18-3 overall heading into a Cloverbelt Conference crossover at Altoona on Saturday against Osseo-Fairchild. Spencer falls to 3-16 and finished 3-12 in the Cloverbelt East.

Spencer will host Cadott in the eighth-place game of the Cloverbelt Crossovers on Thursday at 7:15 p.m.

Alli Schoengarth had 10 points to lead the Warriors.

Spencer plays at Abbotsford in a WIAA Division 4 regional quarterfinal Tuesday, while Neillsville earned a first-round bye and will host a Division 4 regional final against either Chequamegon or Westfield on Feb. 22.
