Roehl nets 31 points to lift Columbus Catholic girls basketball past Cadott in Cloverbelt crossover

MARSHFIELD – Hailey Roehl drilled six 3-pointers and scored a game-high 31 points to propel the Marshfield Columbus Catholic girls basketball team to a 56-43 in the sixth-place game of the Cloverbelt Conference East-West crossovers on Thursday night at Columbus Catholic High School.

Roehl had five 3-pointers and 23 of her points in the first half as the Dons (12-9) built a 36-21 lead by halftime.

Columbus was able to hold off Cadott (7-13) by making 11 of 18 free throws in the second half. The Dons finished 16 of 27 overall at the free throw line in the win.

Addie Baierl added eight points for Columbus.

Cadott made nine 3-pointers in the loss, including three by Mary Jo Prokupek, who had a team-high 11 points.

Columbus Catholic will host Tigerton in a WIAA Division 5 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
