Marshfield girls basketball drops regular-season finale to Menomonie

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield girls basketball team ended its regular season with a narrow 57-56 loss to Menomonie in a nonconference game Friday night at Marshfield High School.

Menomonie led 33-28 at halftime before the Tigers clawed back but came up one point short.

Marshfield finishes the regular season with a 10-12 record, while Menomonie moves to 15-5.

Jenna Jakobi, Marshfield’s lone senior playing on Senior Night, had 20 points and five rebounds to lead the Tigers. Maddie Michaelis added 13 points, and Kaydee Johnson chipped in 11 points and five rebounds.

Kylie Mogen had 17 points and 17 rebounds for the Mustangs.

Marshfield will play at Wausau West in a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal on Friday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.
