Spencer boys basketball drops Cloverbelt East road games to Loyal, Colby

The Spencer boys basketball team dropped a pair of Cloverbelt Conference East Division road games on Thursday and Friday, losing to Loyal 64-40 and Colby 59-55.

In Thursday’s game at Loyal, Spencer made just 14 of 46 shots from the field and missed 14 of its 16 3-point attempts as it couldn’t get its offense going.

Nate Karau had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead the Rockets.

Quinn Brussow scored a game-high 22 points for Loyal.

In the loss at Colby, Austin Bacon had 22 points and Karau had 13 rebounds for Spencer.

Trinity Larson chipped in 14 points for the Rockets.

Spencer is now 7-12 overall and 6-9 in the Cloverbelt East.

Spencer hosts Neillsville in its final conference game Tuesday and will finish its regular-season schedule in a Cloverbelt Crossover on Thursday.
