A number of Central Wisconsin athletes have been chosen to participated in the annual Wisconsin Football Coaches Association All-Star Games at Titan Stadium in Oshkosh on July 20.
The Eight-Player All-Star Game will kick off the festivities at 10 a.m., followed by the Small School Game at 1:30 p.m. and the Large School Game at 5 p.m.
The games pit graduated senior players playing for the North and South squads.
Chosen to the Large School North team were: Marshfield running back Brant Bohman and Stevens Point defensive lineman Jack Kelly. The team will be coached by River Falls head coach David Crail.
Spencer/Columbus Catholic head coach Jason Gorst will lead the North team in the Small School game. SC assistant Todd Hildebrandt and Edgar assistant Greg Streit were also picked to the North coaching staff.
Local players on the North team in the Small School game are: Abbotsford running back Joseph Aguilera and guard Angelo Hutman, Loyal defensive end Stephen Buchanan, Edgar defensive back Karson Butt and outside linebacker Ty Guden, Stratford running back Kade Ehirke and center Dylan Schoenherr, Spencer/Columbus outside linebacker Carson Hildebrandt, quarterback Jarred Mandel and offensive tackle Nate Karau, and Iola-Scandinavia running back Bryce Huettner, tackle Kellan Wandtke and inside linebacker Carter Kurki.
Port Edwards wide receiver Addison Gibbs, and Wausau Newman Catholic running back Kasey Kalafice, and wide receivers Elliot Samuels and Cade Kimball were named the Eight-man North team. Newman head coach Paul Michlig and assistant Karl Thorpe, and Port Edwards assistant Max Ayers were named to the coaching staff.
