GREEN BAY – The 44th annual WIAA Girls Basketball State Tournament concluded Saturday, March 9, with five divisional state championship games at the Resch Center.
Black Hawk (28-0) completed an undefeated season and captured its first state title with a 51-36 win over Clayton (27-1) in the Division 5 championship. Black Hawk was the runner-up in 2018.
La Crosse Aquinas (27-1) whipped Melrose-Mindoro (26-2) 65-39 to repeat as Division 4 champs.
Marshall (26-2) also repeated, winning its second-straight Division 3 title, with a 64-56 victory over Laconia (27-1).
Beaver Dam (27-1) became the third team to earn a repeat state title, taking the Division 2 final over Monroe (21-7), 65-56.
Bay Port (27-1) captured its first state title, edging Middleton (21-6), 50-49, in the Division 1 final.
