Stratford wrestler Dylan Schoenherr has been voted as the WDLB-WOSQ Radio & MarshfieldAreaSports.com February High School Athlete of the Month.
The High School Athlete of the Month Award is sponsored by Cost Cutters Family Hair Care and Burt Trophy & Awards.
Varsity athletes from the following high schools are eligible to be nominated for the award: Abbotsford, Athens, Auburndale, Colby, Columbus Catholic, Edgar, Granton, Greenwood, Loyal, Marathon, Marshfield, Neillsville, Owen-Withee, Pittsville, Spencer, Stratford and Thorp.
Schoenherr won the voting with approximately 40 percent of the nearly 1,900 votes cast.
Other nominees for the February award were: Neillsville/Greenwood/Loyal wrestler Stephen Buchanan, Edgar girls basketball player Makenna Guden, Colby girls basketball player Vanessa Lopez, Marshfield wrestler Sam Mitchell, and Spencer/Columbus wrestler Logan Zschernitz.
Schoenherr, a senior, won his first career state title by taking the Division 3 285-pound title at the WIAA State Individual Wrestling Tournament at the Kohl Center in Madison on Feb. 23. Schoenherr held off Leif Bredeson of Darlington/Black Hawk 2-1 in the finals and takes a 48-3 record into the state team tournament March 2 as the Tigers look for their third-straight Division 3 championship.
The winner of the WDLB-WOSQ Radio & MarshfieldAreaSports.com High School Athlete of the Year will be announced Monday, July 10.

Schoenherr joins previous 2018-19 Athlete of the Month winners: Spencer/Columbus Catholic football player Jarred Mandel (September), Marshfield football player Ryan Krueger (October), Columbus Catholic girls basketball player Hailey Roehl (November), Stratford boys basketball player Vaughn Breit (December), and Auburndale wrestler Dylan Baird (January).
