Greenwood tops Columbus Catholic baseball

GREENWOOD – The Marshfield Columbus Catholic baseball team opened its 2019 season Monday with a 6-2 loss to Greenwood in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division matchup.

Greenwood (2-0 overall and Cloverbelt East) scored three runs in both the second and fourth innings for all of the runs it needed.

Bryce Fuerlinger and Austin Grubofski each had two hits and an RBI for the Dons.

Trenton Klabon went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and Tragen Bogodovich had a double, a triple, and three runs batted in for the Indians.

Columbus plays at Neillsville on Thursday, weather pending.
