Higgins’ walk-off hit lifts Spencer baseball past Loyal

SPENCER – Chase Higgins had a walk-off double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Spencer baseball team to a 4-3 win over Loyal in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Tuesday at Spencer High School.

Tanner Kleinschmidt earned the win for the Rockets (2-0 overall and Cloverbelt East), throwing 2 2/3 shutout innings in relief of Higgins. Higgins allowed three runs in five innings on the mound.

Hayden Bauman had two RBIs for the Rockets.

Spencer hosts Granton on Thursday.
