WAUSAU – Marshfield and D.C. Everest tied for first place with scores of 338 at the third leg of the seven-meet Wisconsin Valley Conference Boys Golf Tournament on Friday at Wausau Country Club.
The meet, hosted by D.C. Everest, was won by Russell Dettmering of Merrill, who shot a 75, four shots ahead of Wausau East’s Carter Cygan.
Nate Boson shot an 82 to finish third and lead the Tigers, who also won the first leg of the tournament last week. Boson, the individual medalist in that first meet at Pine Valley Golf Course, is in fifth place in the overall individual standings.
Davis Rens had an 83, Ben Baur shot an 84, and Jaxon Bulgrin shot an 89 for the Tigers.
Marshfield, Stevens Point and D.C. Everest are tied for the overall team standings after the third meet with 18.5 points, two points ahead of Stevens Point.
The fourth leg of the tournament will be Tuesday at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids.
