PITTSVILLE – Pittsville cracked out 16 hits and scored multiple runs in three different innings to beat Spencer 15-6 in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday at Pittsville High School.
After a three-run top of the first inning from the Rockets, Pittsville (9-7) responded with five runs in the bottom of the frame.
The Panthers extended their lead to 10-3 before Spencer (7-2) clawed closer with three runs in the fourth.
However, Pittsville was able to blank the Rockets to the rest of the way and added five more runs.
Austin Bacon and Tanner Kleinschmidt each had two hits for the Rockets, who had eight in all.
Spencer plays at Marshfield Columbus Catholic on Thursday before hosting Neillsville on Friday.
