STRATFORD – The Stratford baseball team kept pace atop the Marawood Conference South Division standings with a 7-0 win over Auburndale on Tuesday at the Tiger Stadium Baseball Field.
Lance Heidmann threw the complete-game shutout for the Tigers, who improve to 10-2 overall and 6-1 in the Marawood South. With the win, Stratford moves into a tie for first place in the conference standings.
Auburndale falls to 3-7 overall and 2-5 in the Marawood South.
Heidmann struck out six, did not walk a batter, and scattered eight hits to earn the win for the Tigers.
Hunter Wright and Carl Lundgren each had two hits for Auburndale.
Dawson Moen and Mavrick Liccardi both had two hits, and Riley Bauman drove in two runs for Stratford.
The two teams will meet again Thursday at Auburndale. Game time is 4:45 p.m.
