WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Marshfield Post 54 Junior American Legion baseball team keeps on hitting, scoring in double figures again as it completed a doubleheader sweep of Wisconsin Rapids on Thursday night at Witter Field.
Marshfield won 10-2 and 16-5 to run its record to 7-0 this summer. The Blue Devils have scored at least 10 runs in their last six games.
Riley Bauman tossed a complete game in the opener for Marshfield, striking out seven, and allowed just three walks and four hits. He also smacked a home run, had two singles and finished with five RBIs in the victory.
Logan Homolka and Peter Earll each went 3-for-4, with Earll driving in three runs for the Blue Devils.
In Game 2, Max Heller threw three innings to earn the win for Marshfield.
Jaden Wilhelm hit a home run, scored three times and drove in two, Homolka had two hits, three walks and four RBIs, and Cody Donahue had a single, two walks and scored four times for the Blue Devils.
Marshfield will compete at the Antigo Junior Legion Tournament this weekend, taking on Gladstone (Mich.) at 10 a.m. and Tomahawk at 3 p.m. on Saturday, and wrapping up play against Oshkosh at 10 a.m. Sunday.
