Stevens Point wins team title, Marshfield fourth at second leg of WVC girls golf tournament

STEVENS POINT – Stevens Point edged Wausau East/West by two shots to claim the team title at the second leg of the Wisconsin Valley Conference girls golf tournament on Tuesday at Stevens Point Country Club.

Point finished with a score of 182, two shots ahead of Wausau. Wisconsin Rapids was third with a 212, Marshfield fourth at 220, and D.C. Everest fifth at 238.

Morgan Meyer shot a 51 to finish 10th overall, Anna Weis had a 53, Bryssa Lenz and Sophie Lee each had 58s, and Tia Campbell had a 97 for the Tigers.

Jasmine Yang of Wausau won medalist honors with a 39. Teammate Tess Bruner was second with a 43.

Marshfield will play the third leg of the tournament at Ridges Golf Course in Wisconsin Rapids on Friday.
