MARSHFIELD – D.C. Everest won eight of the 11 races and had seven second-place finishes to lift the Evergreens to a 112-58 win over Marshfield in the Wisconsin Valley Conference girls swimming dual meet opener for 2019.
Marshfield had individual wins from Courtney Donahue in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.32) and Faith Risa in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.47), and the two, along with Kaitlyn Alberts and Skylar Onsager teamed to win the 200 medley relay in 1:58.54 for the Tigers.
Marshfield also had second-place finishes from Alyssa Franks in the 200 individual medley (2:28.14) and 500 freestyle (5:47.77), Alberts in the 100 backstroke (1:04.82), and Onsager in the 100 freestyle (58.43).
Sara Mayer won the 200 IM (2:19.94) and 100 backstroke (1:02.73), and was part of the winning 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relay teams for D.C. Everest.
Marshfield will compete at the Rhinelander Invitational on Saturday before returning to WVC action next Thursday, Sept. 19, at Stevens Point.
