Marshfield boys soccer shuts out Tomah

MARSHFIELD – Spencer Frey scored in the third minute of the second half and that was all Marshfield would need as it defeated Tomah 1-0 in a nonconference boys soccer game Friday at Heiting Community Stadium.

Marshfield goalkeeper Trevor Cassidy saved all three shots sent his way to earn the shutout victory for the Tigers.

Following a scoreless first half, Frey scored off an assist from Sam Roherty 2:41 into the second half for the game’s only goal.

Marshfield (4-3-1) hosts Wausau East in a Wisconsin Valley Conference match at 5 p.m. Tuesday at Griese Park.
