STANLEY – The Spencer/Columbus defense held Stanley-Boyd to 91 yards and the Rockets’ offense put together a number of long scoring drives as they went on to a 47-14 road win on Friday night at Forward Field.
Spencer/Columbus piled up 291 yards rushing on 67 carries, had 28 first downs, and scored six offensive touchdowns in the Cloverbelt Conference victory. The Rockets won their second game in a row and are now 2-2 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
Austin Bacon and Eden Jacobson each ran for 121 yards, with Bacon scoring three times and Jacobson twice.

Bacon had touchdown runs of 5 and 2 yards in the first half, and Jacobson also had a 2-yard TD score to push the Rockets to a 22-7 lead at halftime.
The Rockets put up four more scores in the second half, which included 2-yard TD runs by Bacon and Jacobson, a touchdown pass from Gage Stratman to Will Schlafke, and an interception return from Brett Kasch in the final minute.
The Rockets host Neillsville/Granton next Friday, Sept. 20, at 7 p.m. at Ted Fritsch Field at Spencer High School.
