MARSHFIELD – Marshfield won four matches in straight sets to earn its first Wisconsin Valley Conference girls tennis victory of the season as it defeated Merrill 4-3 on Friday at the Boson Tennis Complex.
Winners for Marshfield were: Jabina Davadas at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-2; Hailey McCanna at No. 4 singles, 6-0, 6-0; the No. 2 doubles team of Krupa Paitel and Sydney Newmeir, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5; and the No. 3 doubles team of Ana Paape and Christina Chin, 6-0, 6-0.
Marshfield (1-2 WVC) plays at D.C. Everest on Tuesday and hosts Wausau East next Thursday.
