COLUMBUS – The Stratford football team remains unscored upon after putting together its fourth-straight shutout to start the 2019 season.
The Tigers won 46-0 on Friday night at Columbus in a nonconference game, and have now outscored their opponents 223-0 this season.
Teddy Redman and Matt Handrick had touchdown runs in the first quarter, and Max Schwabe threw touchdown passes to Vaughn Breit and Chase Flink in the second quarter to give Stratford a 27-0 halftime lead.
Justin Schoenherr scored from 6 yards out, and Devin Dennee added a pair of touchdown runs in the second half for the Tigers.
Schwabe finished a crisp 9-for-11 passing for 130 yards, 56 coming on the TD to Flink.
Beau Gross ran 10 times for 91 yards to lead the Stratford running game, which finished with 313 yards.
The Stratford defense allowed just 33 yards, holding Columbus to minus 15 yards rushing.
Stratford (4-0) returns to Marawood Conference action next week with a game at Rib Lake/Prentice. The game, at Rib Lake High School, begins at 7 p.m. next Friday, Sept. 20.
