WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Stevens Point won for the third-straight time as the Wisconsin Valley Conference girls golf tournament continued Friday at Ridges Golf Course.
Point finished with a score of 180, with Wausau West/East second with a 207. Wisconsin Rapids was third at 217, and Marshfield and D.C. Everest tied for fourth with scores of 228.
Stevens Point, winners of all three meets thus far, had three golfers tie for second with 44s – Leah Earnest, Ally Nickel and Abby Nickel. The Panthers’ trio finished two shots behind meet medalist Jasmine Yang of Wausau West/East.
Marshfield’s Anna Weis and Stevens Point’s Riley Pechinski tied for fifth with 48s, and Megan Bonikowske of Stevens Point took seventh with a 49.
Morgan Meyer had a 55, Bryssa Lenz shot a 62, Sophie Lee shot a 63, and Tia Campbell had an 85 to round out the scoring for the Tigers.
The fourth leg of the tournament will be Tuesday at Trapp River Golf Course in Wausau.
