Marshfield finishes WVC regular season with loss at Wausau West

WAUSAU – The Marshfield girls tennis team wrapped up its regular-season schedule with a 5-2 loss to Wausau West in a Wisconsin Valley Conference dual meet on Tuesday at West High School.

The Tigers finish the WVC dual season with a 2-4 record and their next meet will be the Wisconsin Valley Conference Tournament at Wausau East and West high schools on Oct. 3.

Winners for Marshfield were the No. 2 doubles team of Krupa Patel and Sydney Newmier, who beat Mia Hoehn and Madeleine Bizjak 7-5, 7-5, and the No. 3 doubles team of Ana Paape and Christina Chin, who won over Rachel Maitman and Brenna Holtz, 6-3, 6-1.

Wausau West is now 4-1 in the Valley and will finish its conference schedule at Stevens Point on Thursday.
