STEVENS POINT – The Marshfield freshman football team rolled past Stevens Point P.J. Jacobs 43-16 on Thursday at Goerke Field.
Marshfield quarterback Trevor Foemmel threw for three touchdowns and ran for three more to lead the way for the Tigers.
Foemmel ran for TD scores of 3, 4 and 38 yards, and threw touchdown passes of 24 yards to Evan Pretsch, and 27 and 29 yards to Sam Meverden.
Bennett Lang threw a two-point conversion pass to Meverden, and Noah Peterson kicked five extra points for the Tigers.
Meverden and Cliff Hansen led the defense, with Isaac Dagit recovering a fumble. Coach Gary Zopfi noted that Eli Colby did a good job of picking up blitzes in the offensive backfield for the Tigers.
Marshfield’s next game is Oct. 3 at Wausau East at 4:30 p.m.
