Marshfield boys soccer overcomes early deficit to top D.C. Everest

MARSHFIELD – The Marshfield boys soccer doubled up D.C. Everest, 4-2, on Tuesday night at Heiting Community Stadium to keep its slot in second place in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

D.C. Everest scored in the opening minute with a goal from Kyle Jaglinski and added another goal from Connor Schommer at the 11:40 mark to give the Evergreens a quick 2-0 lead.

Kyle Tremelling scored on a penalty kick at 16:51 for Marshfield, and the 2-1 D.C. Everest led held until the Tigers picked up their offensive momentum 10 minutes into the second half.

Spencer Frey, Ian Haugen and Tremelling had goals within a span of 10:01, turning the deficit into a two-goal lead, and the victory.

Marshfield is now 9-5-2 overall and 7-2-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference. D.C. Everest falls to 6-10-1 and 4-5 in conference play.

Marshfield plays at Wausau East on Thursday.
