WAUSAU – Marshfield won all three of its matches, including another victory over first-place Stevens Point, at the second Wisconsin Valley Conference meet of the season on Saturday at Wausau East High School.
Marshfield topped Stevens Point 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-20, 25-13), Wausau East 3-2 (13-25, 26-24, 26-24, 22-25, 18-16), and Wisconsin Rapids 3-1 (25-16, 25-20, 20-25, 25-22) to move its record to 7-4 in WVC action this season.
“I am really proud of how our team fought today against some really good competition,” Marshfield coach Dawn Sadowska said. “We have always believed we are a good team, and how our stats are distributed shows that. We look forward to carrying this momentum into our last week of conference competition.”
Lindsey Steffen had 49 kills and nine service aces, Taylor Barwick had 58 assists and 42 digs, and Kati Sadowska had 68 digs for Marshfield in its three matches.
Brooklyn Boushack added 26 kills, Alani Carter had 19 kills, Kaydee Johnson had 59 digs, and Bailey Mathis chipped in 53 assists for the Tigers.
Marshfield finishes its regular-season and Wisconsin Valley Conference schedule at home Thursday against Wausau West.
