Columbus Catholic soccer cruises past Tri-County

PLAINFIELD – Kellen Delaney had a hat trick and seven other players scored for Marshfield Columbus Catholic as it rolled to an 11-0 win over Tri-County in its Central Wisconsin Conference and regular season soccer finale on Thursday.

The Dons led 9-0 by halftime, scoring five times in a 10-minute span from 10:05 to 20:28 of the half.

Delaney had all three of his goals in that span, two coming on assists from Annika Brown.

Dylan Porter, Zach Olson, John Garneau, Wyatt Drexler, Lucas Reigel, Cole Heinzen and Sydney Mauritz added goals for Columbus Catholic.

The Dons finish their regular season with a 14-1-3 record and a 12-0-1 mark in the Central Wisconsin Conference as they won their third-straight CWC title.

Columbus Catholic will host Coulee Christian/Providence Academy in a WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal at 4 p.m. Oct. 24 at Griese Park.
