STRATFORD – The Stratford volleyball team started its quest for a third-straight trip to the state tournament with a 3-0 sweep of Spencer in a WIAA Division 3 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday night at Stratford High School.
The second-seeded Tigers won 25-8, 25-17, 25-15, to move on to a regional semifinal at home on Thursday against rival Edgar beginning at 7 p.m.
Mikayla Guldan had 10 kills, Ally Zuleger had nine assists and Tanaya Schillinger had five digs to lead Stratford in each category.
Abby Oertel had three service aces and eight assists, and Lauryn Nagel added four kills and six assists for the Tigers.
Heavyn Kind had three kills and seven digs, Elexa Post added six digs, and Zalexis Mannigel had six assists for Spencer.
