AUBURNDALE – The Auburndale girls basketball team brings back an experienced roster as it eyes improvement in the tough Marawood Conference South Division.
The Apaches finished 11-12 overall and 7-9 in the Marawood South in 2018-19, but have 10 returning players, including two that garnered all-conference honors.
Senior forward Natalie Aue, a second-team all-Marawood South pick a year ago, and senior guard Taylor Stanton, an all-conference honorable mention choice, are among those back for the Apaches.
Juniors Georgi Schmutzer, Lauren Peplinski, Kaitlyn Kundinger and Hailey Grimm, and seniors Paityn Hamus, Macie Schmeiser, Vanessa Mitchell, and Isabelle Hilber are all back for Auburndale.
Annamarie Aue is a newcomer that has seen action in the Apaches’ first two games this season.
Auburndale beat Greenwood 63-31 in its opener on Nov. 19, and lost its Marawood South opener to Wisconsin Rapids Assumption 50-28 on Nov. 21 to start the season 1-1.
Kundinger, Natalie Aue, and Schmutzer all scored in double figures in win over Greenwood.
