STRATFORD – Allison Wokatsch and Anna Cleven each scored nine points in the first half as Marathon built a double-digit lead and held off Stratford 59-48 in a Marawood Conference South Division girls basketball game Tuesday night at Stratford High School.
Marathon cruised out to a 33-23 lead by halftime and were able to hold on, making 6 of 8 free throws in the second half.
Cleven finished with 15 points, Wokatsch had 13 and Kyle Blume scored a team-high 18 points, 11 in the second half, for the Raiders (4-0, 3-0 Marawood South).
Emily Hughes had 19 points and nine rebounds, and Breanna Ackley added 18 points and nine rebounds for Stratford, which falls to 1-3 overall and 0-3 in the Marawood South.
Stratford hosts Edgar for another Marawood South contest on Friday.
