LA CROSSE – The Marshfield gymnastics team started its 2019-20 season with a victory, taking first place at the La Crosse Quadrangular on Friday night at Performance Elite Gymnastics.
Marshfield finished with 135.075 points, easily outdistancing La Crosse by 13.4 points. La Crescent (Minn.) took third and Arcadia was fourth.
Gracie Holland won the all-around and three events to lead the way for Marshfield.
Holland won the vault with a score of 9.65, the uneven bars with a 9.3 and the floor exercise with a 9.35, and was second in the balance beam with a 9.2 to finish with an all-around score of 37.5.
Hanna Merkel finished second in the floor (8.675) and was third in the all-around (32.3) for the Tigers.
Marshfield will compete at the Rhinelander Invitational on Saturday.
