LA CROSSE – Sarah Mueller scored 32 points and Emma Van Order scored 16 of her 17 points in a mad second-half comeback for Stevens Point Pacelli in a 58-49 win over Marshfield Columbus Catholic in a nonconference girls basketball game as part of the Bishop John Paul Showcase at Aquinas High School on Saturday.
Addison Baierl had 12 points in the first half and Emmalee Jicinsky added six as Columbus Catholic (4-4) took a 24-21 lead into halftime.
Baierl remained hot in the second half, but the Dons couldn’t hold off Pacelli’s duo of Van Order and Mueller.
Mueller and Van Order each scored 16 points in the second half as Pacelli (7-0) outscored Columbus 37-25 over the final 18 minutes to pull away.
Baierl had 17 points in the second half to finish with 29, but the rest of the Dons only mustered eight.
Columbus Catholic hosts Gilman on Thursday, while Pacelli is off until playing in the UW-Stevens Point Tournament on Dec. 26-27.
