A number of former local high school athletes have moved on to the next level and are playing sports collegiately across the country.

Fravert off to good start for Oshkosh
Adam Fravert, a 2016 graduate of Marshfield High School, is a senior on the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh men’s basketball team.

Fravert is averaging 15.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game for the Titans through the team’s first eight games.

Fravert’s best two games were his last two. He had a season-high 25 points and 10 rebounds in an 88-81 loss to Alma College (Mich.) on Dec. 6 and followed that up with 22 points and nine rebounds in an 89-50 win over Calvin University (Mich.) on Dec. 7.

UW-Oshkosh, the defending NCAA Division III national champions, are 5-3 and return to action with a nonconference game at St. Norbert College in De Pere on Tuesday.

Miner wins MVP at Carthage
Johnelle Miner, a 2016 graduate of Stratford High School, was named team Most Valuable Player for the Carthage College women’s cross country team.

Miner, a senior, wrapped up her collegiate cross country career by placing 69th at the NCAA Division III regional at Lake Breeze Golf Course in Winneconne on Nov. 16. Miner finished the 6-kilometer course in 23:57.9 for a team-best finish.

Miner will compete for the Carthage track and field team this winter and spring.

Malovrh playing at Viterbo

Malovrh has played in all 11 games for the V-Hawks off the bench this season, averaging 1.9 points in 13.7 minutes per game. He has made four 3-pointers and has 24 rebounds and 12 assists for Viterbo, which is coached by Marshfield High School grad Wayne Wagner.

Viterbo is 4-7 heading into a game at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on Tuesday.
