Marshfield boys hockey rolls past Tomahawk

MARSHFIELD – Josh Gruen, Payton Smith and Damyon Hains each scored twice as the Marshfield boys hockey team dominated Tomahawk and won 11-0 in a nonconference game Tuesday night at the Marshfield Ice Arena.

Marshfield scored three goals in each of the first two periods before putting the game away with five goals in the third, including three in a 26-second span.

Evan Weister, who also had three assists, scored at the 2:02 mark, and Hains scored both of his goals in 16 seconds apart to push the lead to 9-0.

Marshfield outshot Tomahawk (2-5) 38-15, with A.J. Trierweiler saving all 15 shots for the Tigers in goal.

Marshfield (3-4-1) hosts its annual tournament Friday and Saturday.
