Spencer girls basketball knocks off Pittsville

SPENCER – The Spencer girls basketball team has already surpassed its win total from a year ago, claiming its fourth victory of the season with a 45-34 nonconference win over Pittsville on Tuesday night at Spencer High School.

Spencer is now 4-4 after finishing 3-18 last year. Pittsville falls to 2-6.

Heavyn Kind had her second-straight 20-point game for the Rockets, pouring in 22 points. She also had 11 rebounds and five steals in the win.

Aryiah Schuh added eight points and four steals. Jorie Meyer, Amber Becker and Madison Knecht each chipped in four points, Zalexis Mannigel had two points, and Rebecca Mlsna had one point and three steals for Spencer.

Spencer hosts Loyal in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game on Thursday.
