GREENWOOD – The Spencer boys basketball team kept its winning streak alive, knocking off Greenwood 67-59 in a Cloverbelt Conference East Division game Thursday night at Greenwood High School.
Brett Kasch had 12 of his 20 points in the first half, and Austin Bacon scored 10 of his 19 points in the opening 18 minutes to help Spencer (6-0, 5-0 Cloverbelt East) grab a 31-25 lead by halftime.
The Rockets held on in the second half as Kasch was 4-for-5 and Bacon 3-for-4 at the free throw line. Eric Ehlert also scored eight points in the second half for Spencer.
Treyton Thomas and Westen Schmitz each scored 17 points for Greenwood (3-3, 2-2 Cloverbelt East).
Spencer is off until Jan. 3 when it plays a nonconference game at Stevens Point Pacelli. Greenwood’s next game is Dec. 27 at home against Athens.
